INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ORDERS OF CHIVALRY AND AWARD SYSTEMS
On the 3th and 4th June of 2023 the Republic of San Marino, the Secretariat for Foreign and Political Affairs, the Grand Magisterium of the Equestrian Order of Sant'Agata are organizing in conjunction with the ICOC, the CIGH and the RAHE, an International Conference on Orders of Chivalry and Award Systems in the reality of the XXI Century, on the occasion of the centenary of the foundation of the Equestrian Order of Sant'Agata to commemorate the important Equestrian Order of the Republic which arose as a title of recognition and gratitude towards those foreign citizens who with works benefits have made themselves useful to the Republic and its Institutes.
The Republic of San Marino is the third smallest country in Europe, behind only the Principality of Monaco and the Vatican City, but it is famous for being the oldest republic in the world, and it oﬀers exceptional testimony to the establishment of a representative democracy founded on civic autonomy and self-government, a unique model of democracy in Europe, for which the UNESCO has declared it a World Heritage Site.
The event, which will bring together the most important scholars of chivalry and awards on the Titan Theatre in San Marino, will also see the presentation of the important publication by Mario Volpe: Collection of Illustrative Tables on World Award Systems, 3 volumes, total pages 1648, published by the International Commission for Orders of Chivalry – ICOC. The presentations of this conference will all be streamed live online and then stored in special sites for continuous consultation, along with the contribution of about another twenty online presentations, to provide complete information on the subject of chivalry and awards.
On Monday 5 June, at the end of the Congress, it is also scheduled a private audience with the Captains Regent: the Heads of the Republic of San Marino. In particular, Dr. Maria Loredana Pinotti degli Uberti, AIG President, Dr. Pier Felice degli Uberti, ICOC and CIGH President and Dr. Manuel Pardo de Vera y Diaz, RAHE President, will be received, together with a small group of eminent personalities.
