2nd International Colloquium of Genealogy, Heraldry, and Vexillology 2023 – Vilnius, Lithuania
Theme: The Grand Dukes of Lithuania and other families originating from this country – A door to Baltic history, genealogy, heraldry and vexillology


Date: 9–11 June 2023 
Venues: The 2nd International Colloquium of Genealogy, Heraldry, and Vexillology (ICGHV) will be held at the Vilnius Lithuanian State Historical Archives (Mindaugo str. 8, https://archyvai.lt) and at the National Museum – the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania (Katedros sq. 4, www.valdovurumai.lt).
Languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, and Lithuanian.
Themes of the colloquium: The Grand Dukes of Lithuania and other families originating from this country – a door to Baltic history and genealogy, heraldry, and vexillology.
Call for Papers: proposals must be submitted in the chosen language as well as in English and consist of an abstract of a maximum of 400 words. Each proposal should be accompanied by a short CV of the presenter (maximum 100 words). Please send the speaker’s contact details in both the chosen language and English by 22 January 2023 to the following address: info@ghvi.lt
Acceptance of papers: selected speakers will be informed individually by 1 March 2023. The final paper, with a maximum length of 20 pages in Word (Times New Roman 12), must be sent in the language selected by the speaker by 1 April 2023.
Presentation of papers: the Institute of Genealogy, Heraldry, and Vexillology of Lithuania (IGHV) will announce the date and time for the presentation of the paper. A maximum of 20 minutes will be allocated for the presentation, with a further 5 minutes for questions and answers from the audience.
Publication of papers: the proceedings of the ICGHV will be published in the journal 'Genealogy, Heraldry, and Vexillology', both in traditional printed format (for a fee) and in digital format (distributed free of charge to the speakers).
Certificate of participation: upon request, certificates will be issued by the Institute of Genealogy, Heraldry, and Vexillology of Lithuania (IGHV).
Participation fees: participation in the academic activities is free of charge.
Dress code: formal dress code for all participants (speakers and attendees), both on-site and online.
Gala dinner: At the ‘Narutis’ restaurant, Pilies g. 24, Vilnius (www.narutis.com). There is a participation fee of €100.
Excursions: All participants and accompanying persons will have the opportunity to visit the Lithuanian State Historical Archives (9 June 2023) and the National Museum at the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania (10 June 2023). There will be a trip to Kernavė and Trakai (11 June 2023).
Future notices: The next notice to participants will be on 1 April 2023. It will indicate the detailed programme, all the most recent information relating to registrations, excursions, other activities, as well as any other useful information. All the information will be available on the website www.icghv.com, which is continuously updated.
